Obituary for Evelyn Davenport
Evelyn Davenport, age 86 of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away December 11, 2013 at the Life Care of Basin, Ducktown, TN. Evelyn was born October 25, 1927 in Polk County, TN to the late Carl Davenport and the late Ollie Miller Davenport. She was a member of theEpworth First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, and Gevena Sisson, brother, Leland Davenport and a special niece, Dione Galloway. Evelyn loved her family, gardening, art painting, crafting, knitting and was a awesome cook. She was the fun, of every occasion, with her wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include: sister, Ruth Tatum nephew, Sam Galloway, nieces, Denise Keagen, and Rebecca Lycan, great nephews, Colby and Russell Galloway, great-great nieces, Laurie Chambers, and Hailey Galloway; great-great nephew, Cody Galloway, Kolton Galloway, and Landon Galloway, other relatives and friends
Funeral services: Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music provided by Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Colby and Russell Galloway, Trevor Wilson, Mike Campbell, Greg Crawford, and Bill Turpin. Honorary pallbearers: Betty Payne, Loretta Henry, Royce Burnett, Chuck and Betty Foster, Miles and Johnnie Watkins, Junior Kyle, TEL Sunday School Class at Epworth First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Thursday Evening, December 12, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Arrangements entrusted to the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, GA. You may send condolences to the family and sign the guest register at www.cochranfuneralhomes.com.
