Obituary for James Merle Mashburn
Mr. James Merle Mashburn, age 79 of Morganton, passed away December 10, 2013 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Mashburn was born July 13, 1934 in Fannin Co, GA to the late John Mashburn and Gurtrue Collins Mashburn. A member of New Testament Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents, 3 Sisters and 5 brothers: Ailene Van Der Cammen, Cecil Mashburn, Doyle Mashburn, Ralph Mashburn, Madelyn Hayes, Elizabeth Newborn, Hoyt Mashburn & Charles Edward Mashburn.
Survivors include: wife, Flora Belle Mashburn, daughter, Carla Garland, daughter & son-in-law, Lane (Ken) Falls, son & daughter-in-law, Christopher Merle (Pamela) Mashburn, daughter & son-in-law, Holly (Andy) Bates, Brother, U.G. Boots Mashburn, grandchildren, Mark Falls, Aaron Garland, Corey Garland, Kelsey Waits, Levi Bates, Alyssa Bates, Amanda (Jason) Ware, great grandchildren, Emilee Falls, Kaleighann Ware, Elijah Falls, and Jake Ware.
Funeral services: Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Pastor Sammy Ledford and assistant Pastor Bob Becker officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mark Falls, Aaron Garland, Corey Garland, Levi Bates, Elijah Falls, Jake Ware, Merle Long and Jerry Mashburn. Honorary pallbearers: Quinton Davenport, Ron Cook, Jerald Conner, Ruben Craig, Tommy Herendon, Freddy Rice, Junior White, Ray Smith and, Johnny Pierce.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Arrangements entrusted to the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA. You may send condolences to the family and sign the guest register at www.cochranfuneralhomes.com.
