Obituary for Ernest Nathan Dowdy, Jr.
Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces the death of Mr. Ernest Nathan Dowdy, Jr., age 71, of Hiawassee, who passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Dowdy was born in Richmond, Virginia, on December 13, 1941, a son of the late Ernest Nathan Dowdy and Ruth Phillips Dowdy. Mr. Dowdy had lived in Hiawassee since 1974.
Surviving family members include his wife, Barbara, of Hiawassee; three daughters: Geraldine Dowdy, of Munich, Germany, Shawna Roberts, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Vanessa Mickler, of Satellite Beach, Florida; a son, Keith Carew, of Ontario, Canada; two sisters, Barbara Allen of Hiawassee and Pat Johnson, of Baltimore, Maryland.
No services have been planned at this time.
