Obituary for Nettie Conley (Burch)
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Burch Conley, age 94, of Blairsville, who passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Conley was born in Hayesville, North Carolina on January 8, 1919, a daughter of the late William Paul Burch and the late Hattie McClure Burch. Mrs. Conley had lived most of her life in Union County, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by her husband, Charles, who passed away in 1999; a daughter, Linda Gail Hunter; five sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
Nettie was loved by everyone who knew her, and will be especially missed by her surviving family members: Bo and Vivian Conley; David and Nancy Conley, and Larry "Duff" and Charlotte Conley, all of Blairsville; son-in-law, Jimmy Hunter, of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Conley will be held Monday, December 9, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Keith Conley, Jonathan Conley, Jason Hunter, Kevin Conley, Cory Conley, Andrew Conley, and Josh Conley. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, with the family especially meeting with friends between the hours of 5 until 8 p.m.
Flowers are being accepted; however, for those who wish to do so, memorial contributions may also be made to First Baptist Church of Blairsville Lottie Moon offering.
